Senior/Executive Search

DC Based Non-Profit – CEO

A well-known non-profit, losing its CEO to retirement, invited Cessna & Associates to provide administration for what they knew would be a robust pool of candidates nominated by a large, engaged Board of Directors. This work, rather than being a traditional search, was a closely held, complex search administration process requiring the interview and management of three dozen candidates. Cessna & Associates interviewed and maintained high touch, confidential contact with each candidate, was primary liaison to the search committee and moderated an in-depth, multi interview process that engaged over a dozen candidates. Cessna also provided assistance on the offer, referencing, executive background checks and position close out and announcement. This work was completed for a fraction of the fee charged by traditional search firms.

Executive Director/Foundation Fundraiser

A DC based non-profit trade association moved its philanthropic arm to Washington from another major metropolitan area. As a result, a new leader (and staff) needed to be hired. Cessna & Associates was given the opportunity to drive a search that successfully identified top candidates and filled the position with a top performing leader who is still growing the organization’s offerings and financial footing three years later.

Hard to Fill/Niche Positions

Director, Business Development

An Arlington based for-profit consulting practice affiliated with a non-profit professional trade association, retained Cessna & Associates to find a highly productive revenue driver. The position had some very specific requirements with respect to experience level and niche, and the salary budget was tight. Top verifiable production was also a key requirement of the role. We were able to present four viable candidates for interview. One was hired and immediately stepped up to success in the role. The client commended us for providing them with a productive business developer, who is also a strong cultural fit.

Recruiter of Record/Reorg

An Arlington, VA medical society with 50 employees lost its long-time sole HR contributor to retirement simultaneously as a reorganization was commencing for the group. Cessna & Associates helped to fill that position and has been retained as the “recruiter of record” ever since to handle all of the organization’s hiring, as new positions are being ideated and existing positions are being shifted, requiring new staff. We have provided full-cycle recruitment to this client as they have replaced/increased headcount by 15 staff in the last 18 months.
